I am putting together an XM-240. Out of curiosity I opened the 'el cheapo'
balun box. Will it really keep water out? The balun looks equally cheap with
its three beads and three turns of coax smaller than RG-58. What limits the
power handling capacity of this antenna (2KW)? Is it the balun, the loading
coils or both. If the balun is the weak link, I will use something more
substantial.
