I would recommend you get a copy of Dave Leeson's Book, "Physical Design of
Yagi Antennas." Dave was W6QHS when he wrote the book and is now W6NL. In it
he talks about adding small PVC "elements" to Yagis to zero out the torque
effects of wind on both the boom and the elements. That way the antenna will
stay where you aim it in windy conditions.
Then the choice of where to point the antenna depends on the relative
strengths of the elements and the boom. I tend to point the director into
the wind on the theory that it has a smaller cross sectional area than the
boom. There is, for any Yagi, a pointing direction that minimizes the
overall windload. That direction probably is at some angle other than
straight into the wind. See Dave's book. It's published by ARRL and is
widely available at ham stores.

What is the correct position for a yagi antenna, in windy conditions, to
