Hi Gene, Just a couple "off the cuff" observations. Personally, if I'm
going to fall, I'd prefer to fall the least distance possible, like a few
feet!, before any restraints play havoc with my somewhat complicated body.
I think that a big chunk of their price goes to liability insurance and Home
Depot is probably on a rider with them.
The distributor/mfr is not far from here, if you'd like me to fax them for
testing/OSHA data I'd be glad to.
I hope they tell the "neophyte backyard do-it yourself roofers" to be sure
that there should be more distance to impact than the length of the rope!!
If that sounds ridiculous, there was a guy near here, doing his roof. Ran his
houser (for you inland folks, that's not what you think it is!...it's a rope)
over the peak of house down to his truck bumper. Sure enough, his brother
