HI...
I had my Rohn tower mounted in the traditional concrete base... the top of
which was about 5 inches above grade... with the appropriate grounding rods
and ties to the tower legs.
Construction on the addition to our home began and the excavation fellow
said the tower was not a problem. However, when you excavate a full cellar
that is 70 ft long and nearly 20 ft wide, you move a lot of dirt... and the
surrounding yard suddenly was about two feet higher than before... and
because of the grade, my towers lowest section is now buried three feet deep
in new earth.
My question: the soil is well drained sandy loam... should I uproot the
whole tower and replant? Will the galvanized Rohn section corrode soon and
fail?
