also, don't connect with screws. the best way is to drill through and use
either bolts with large washers if you have good size structural members in the
right spot(only works if you are very lucky) or to attach a larger board to the
existing structure and bolt through that. the most common thing is that you
have to add a backing board because the brackets are horizontal and the rafters
go at an angle so you have to put a large horizontal board between rafters or
along the truss at the end of the wall to get a strong enough horizontal member
to attach to.
also, think about how the tower is in the ground. unless you get deep enough to
prevent frost heaving you have to arrange the brackets so the tower can move up
and down without tearing up the wall.
