Hi Chuck,

I converted a TA33RJ to 6 meters a couple of years ago. I removed the
traps, shortened the elements and added another for 4 elements on a 12 ft.
boom. It works fairly well, but was a real bear to tune. I used an MFJ 959
and every time I made a change to one element, I had to adjust all of them.
If I had it to do again, I would not use the split driven element. A design
such as the hairpin match from the handbook, would probably be more
manageable. That, or I would sell the TA33JR for 50 bucks and put it
towards a commercially made antenna. They're really not all that expensive.

Hey gang-

Having never been on 6 before, & working a G3 station last month on my G5RV,
I have decided to put a 6 meter yagi up. I have an old TA33jr laying around,
looking at the short boom on it, I figured I can convert it to 3 ele 6 meter
yagi. Has anyone done it? If so, what dimensions did you use? Also how do
you
feed it?
