I'm considering installing a trap vertical (HF-9V) for 80-10 meters. I
have two possible locations for it. One is in the center of a 30 x 40 foot
steel building roof, about 10 feet off the ground (and with a slight
slope). The other is some distance further away, on the ground.

In the former case, I anticipate I would need to use resonant elevated
radials in addition to the ground plane afforded by the roof, at least on
the lower bands. If I ground mounted it, I would plan to put down 30 or so
non-resonant radials on the ground surface (or just under it).

Question is -- which location is likely to give better results?
