How about coming up into mating connector from the bottom and then
installing a rain hat over the mating connector so that the rain can't
get to the connector interface (imagine the top end of a 2 liter coke
bottle mounted over the female jack to form an umbrella). That would
allow you to permanently waterproof the interface between the rain
hat and the female jack while maintaining the flexibility of a quick
disconnect. Then just put a light coating of Dow Corning Silicone High
Vacuum Grease on the center pin and threads of the UHF connector
and you should be good to go. No fuss, no muss.
