Marc,
I have two Orion 2800 rotators that have operated very reliably
for me for the past 7 years. One rotator is 120 meters from my
ham shack and the other rotator is over 200 meters from my
shack.
I think the reason why I've never experienced the calibration
problem reported by so many others is that I use two separate
cables, one for the motor and one for the indicator (i.e., the
reed realy contacts). The two cables are identical, I do not use
shielded cable.
