At height he is using it's a NVIS antenna...a few feet of droopy
elements isn't going to make a noticeable difference in his short skip
performance.

The whole antenna is importand, don´t forget ground losses.
Back in the 60:ties people was thinking that a Inv V was
better then a dipole, atleast I know better know!
