We call it DUCT SEAL around here...sold in small brick sizes at Home Depoy
and Lowels and in larger bricks at electrical supply companies.

Barry, EI/W5GN, asked how to seal up a 3" diameter hole, around cables, but
still be able to remove them.  Here's the answer:


Your local ACE hardware store (probably not in EI) should stock
"Electrician's Pug".  It's a grey, clay-like material which can be used to
fit around cables, and provide a wx seal.  It's not water soluable, and
tends to remain workable over a reasonable range of temperatures, and time.

When you've pulled the cables out, you can re-seal the hole with it, and
reverse the process upon re-installation.

I comes in 2 lb packages for something like 3 bucks.
