I didn't see a response to this so here goes:
Back in those days, wind load calcs were based on 26 pounds per sq ft at
80mph. With a wind load of 92 pounds, that equates the sq ft to 92/26 or 3.53
sq
ft.
Methods used today are different but the old data is within the ballpark.

Now that is funny as the dickens
Does anyone know how to calculate windload?
The manual from 1959 on the Hornet tribander I am putting up seems to
calculate it in terms we dont use today
According to the Hornet manual from 1959
windload at 80 MPH is 92 lbs
It doesn't use sq feet like you see used today.
Beam weight is 35 lbs
14 foot boom (1 1/2 inch diameter - electro-zinc plated steel)
three elements
longest element is 27 feet 4 1/2 inches
Elements are spaced 7 feet apart
