I used to have the smaller 29-footer that you have and it worked real good.
The agony you would go through to try to expand the antenna would not be
worth the trouble, the time, or the money.
Put it on the air as-is and start making some QSOs (you will make a lot of
them).
Be careful how you mount it on the tower. A lot of people made a mistake
and put it up on top of a tall mast with maybe one or two antennas below it.
This was a mistake, due to vibration that would invariably damage the 40M
Telrex.
Put it right on top of the tower, below any other antennas that you may want
to be on the same rotator. The Telrex was designed long before vibration
issues were appreciated. If you don't do this the antenna will destroy
itself within 2 or 3 years.
If you want a bigger antenna, just buy one.
