It's worth checking with local colleges & high schools athletic dept's for
"worn out" vaulting poles.
They require replacement often for safety purposes.
Say the right words and you might get a couple old ones free.
Very stout, self supporting, we have one on a fence post holding up end of
80meter sloper.
You could probably graft a couple together with, e..g., short piece of
exhaust pipe, and get 30 feet.
