Scott,

I hate to trash a specific manufactured antenna with 1000 of the A3S over
the world there a creature of the past.

Stan hit the nail on the head . the original 3 band trapless antenna Was
Tom’s N6BT C-3 antenna Small Light and easily fabricated.

There are other co’s have the same trapless antennas but coast $$$$

Scott,

Just my opinion, but even if your trapped Tribander had a good SWR and was
brand new instead of 27 years old, I think it would be wise to purchase some
aluminum tubing and build one from scratch with full sized elements and no
traps. Commercially available as well at about triple the cost, the
performance and reliability will be much better than a trapped antenna.
