Hopefully I didn't confuse anyone with my last post. I got my answer
this morning and probably should have waited before posting this
question. Down the road this might help someone in a search and I'm not
affiliated in any way with this program.
I was looking at liability insurance for a new repeater at a commercial site; with the ARRL plan you need to be an affiliated club with at least 51% membership to qualify, they will not insure individuals; the homeowners part mentioned below is separate and is based on blocks of stated value. Got that straight from the company in Chicago. Sorry again for any confusion and I won't belabor this anymore :) 73, Tony On 5/21/20 9:11 PM, Tony KT9AC wrote: With regards to this thread, does anyone know if the ARRL Insurance would provide $1M coverage for a leased commercial repeater site? Ham-related from what I've read is only residential tower coverage and not where you'd pay rent at (I am shopping for this currently and won't bother to spin up a new club if not).Regular insurance companies won't insure hobbyists and the ARRL Insurance above won't cover individuals. Thanks, Tony KT9AC On 5/21/20 9:00 PM, Keith Dutson wrote:I looked into getting ARRL insurance many years ago. If I had obtained it back then, the cost would have exceeded the amount of my claim ($25K). Fortunately, most homeowners policies have a lightning damage clause that has no exclusions, and a small deductible (mine was $2500).73, Keith NM5G -----Original Message-----From: TowerTalk <towertalk-bounces@contesting.com> On Behalf Of Richard BellSent: Thursday, May 21, 2020 2:50 PM To: towertalk@contesting.com Subject: Re: [TowerTalk] Insuramce (robert wa1fcn)What about the policy offer through the ARRL? Appears to rather affordable and would cover everything ham related.Don’t flame me, I’m just asking. 73 W5BXE Message: 1 Date: Wed, 20 May 2020 14:03:11 -0500 From: robert wa1fcn <wa1fcn@charter.net> To: towertalk@contesting.com Subject: [TowerTalk] Insuramce Message-ID: <c540c1fd-89ec-7cb3-752b-e34118cfb84c@charter.net> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8; format=flowed GA All ??? ???
