Ron,
As stated B-4  the  F-12 orginial small dia. Balun can be problematic  over 
time   H2O either at the  wire  exit or at the  SO barrel end .

Balun Design are the Balun of choise IMO

The 20 year old beam appears to have suddenly developed an infinite SWR.
Replaced the coax below the rotor loop connection, so I am assuming the
balun has toasted. Any recommendations for a replacement?
