Maybe a visual will help clarify. Is the Tilt-Over Accessory the one shown
on page 21 of this document?:

If so, it appears the tower can be tilted from ground level, or from a
position above ground. It does not say if one is required to reconfigure
the cable and pulley system when tilting from ground vs. from above ground
(I'd like to know the answer to this w/o stealing the thread).

The current Tashjian tilt over design pivots the vertical tower about 8.5'
above the base of the tower. It is balances at the CG of the tower so not
in the middle of the collapsed tower. So when it is tilted over the whole
tower is 8' off the ground and horizontal.
There is a cable that controls the tilting/pivoting which is managed by a
winch and pulley system. It seems that it will tilt past horizontal but
only about 6 degrees per Tashjian. My question is how far bast horizontal
will it go until metal collides.
US Tower tilts with the pivot at the base which puts a lot of force on the
threaded rod in the concrete. It would seem that both techniques work
but I favor the DX-70 heavy duty features and have to consider how to
mount the mast and antenna once it is horizontal and hanging at 8' above
ground. I may need to build a work platform from which to work once the
tower is horiz.
