As always, I looked at Don's suggested messages. As the Sprint is
somewhat different, the exchange sent by the CQer is, if you want to
follow Sprint protocol, different from that sent by the responder (as
Don has acknowledged but hasn't had time to update his splendid site).
I have come up with the following sequence of F Keys (the messages are
up to you).
F2 - Call CQ
F3 - Send CQ exchange
Shift F3 - Not yet
F4 - TU
At this point you QSY and either call someone or call CQ
Call CQ - back to F2
Call someone - proceed to F5
F5 - Dump call
F6 - Send S&P exchange
F7 - QRZ
F8, 9 and 10 send fills for my NR, Name and QTH respectively
F11 - is ur call %D?
To ask for fills I have programmed the buttons above the various fields
in the Entry window.
e.g. if I click the Call button I send %R%D? %R%E.
If I click the NR button I send %RNR? NR? %R%E
etc.
The ability to program these buttons is great as it makes it really easy
to remember what to press to ask for a fill.
To program them, hold down the Shift key while you left click on the button.
No doubt lots of people know this but I discovered this capability only
recently.
