So, Writelog already offers what you're asking for.

Any chance we can get support for more comport's? Say through com 9.
Serial cards are becoming more difficult to find and I have been forced to
switch to USB with USB to Serial cables, which work great. I just need more
ports available to me so I can move the Icom to one of the higher comports
and leave the lower ones free for things that still force them to be used.
