That was the key, Eric. I got everything working. I have rig control and
the soundboard is keying the radio in AFSK. Thanks for your help. I really
appreciate it. I will list more things on the reflector as I have issues.

Cy

GM Cy,

The rule for rig control from WL (or any logging program) to the Icom ProIII
is simple. The protocol for Program and Rig must all be the same - no auto
setting here.

The address is the e-location used by all communication devices. With
WriteLog it is fixed with the choice of rig. In WL set-up, beside the port
number of the rig control choose Icom IC-756Pro3, with baud (speed) choose
9600, my configuration requires 'uncheck' Poll yours may differ here so try
both checked and unchecked and last PTT = NO as you will be using hardware
for PTT.

With the ProIII set-up. CI-V Baud rate = 9600, CI-V Address = 6Eh and CI-V
Transceiver = OFF.

If your interface supports port set up, then mirror the above information.

On the WL screen, click on the button beside the entry window and make sure
you have Rig on the correct COM port selected.

Last in Writelog set-up - Save Settings.

I can not stress enough, NO AUTO settings. If you station is RFI clean, the
computer is totally healthy and you are seeing no problems at 9600 baud you
may wish to bump up the speed 19200. On the other hand, if you are seeing WL
intermittingly giving you a 'NO Rig' message then drop the speed of
everything down to 4800 baud and check your station for RFI problems.

Hope to see you in the WAE RTTY this weekend.

GL Eric - VE3GSI.
