Hello All..
I was trying to participate in the CQWW RTTY this past weekend
but ran into a snag with respect
to using Writelog and the mmtty plug-in. My hardware here is P4 1.6Ghz
computer running XP SP2 with 1 gig
ram. I have a homebrew FSK interface and I am also decoding with a PK232 in
the "clone" window of Writelog.
Problem was that the soundcard decoding kept cutting out.I would see the two
ellipses in the tuning box
one second and then just a bullet hole ie. no signal...I also got the
"overflow" word popping up occasionally as well
but not all the time.when I checked the mmtty setup, I found that the device
id of the soundcard was constantly
changing from 0 to -1 and back..alot of times I had to change that number to
get any signal showing up in the
control window and tuning box.I have used this setup before and never felt
this much frustration..my PK232
kept plugging away the whole time I was able to operate, but the soundcard
did nothing.
Has anyone seen this sort of behavior before??? Can you direct me to
possible areas that I can check for things??
Another question.the Writelog sound mixer.I found the level in the receive
section (right hand side) set to the max
for both left and right channels..is this the norm or where should it be
set???
Any help is greatly appreciated..not sure if my SB live PCI card is at fault
or just me!!
Thanks
Ted Boerkamp VE3SS
p.s I also shut off the antivirus and it made no difference to the receive
audio in mmtty.
