Esteemed Writelog Users:
I recently upgraded all six of my old Win XP computers to newer Win 7
machines (not ready to move to Win 10 here in the shack yet). The other day I
installed Writelog (V 11.07) on these machines so that I could use it in
the upcoming CQWW CW Contest.
Everything seems to work with one exception. I can not get packet spots
passed through the packet window from the master computer to each of the
other five band computers. The networking is set up properly (at least I
think so) as I can pass QSO's; radio and band information; and "network gab
messages to all computers on the network. I am networking through ethernet
connections and communication to the internet packet cluster through telnet.
When I initialize the packet windows on each of the networked computers it
tells me I have to set up a comm port on the specific computer. I have
always used the "local network" command with XP and it worked fine. Now it
tells me I can't establish a connection to the "master" computer that is
getting the packet spots What am I missing here? Is there a permission I
need to set in Win 7 to allow me to do this?
Any help that any of you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
Please respond to my e-mail address to keep the traffic down on the reflector.
