I use the DL1JW excel script all the time to generate the ADIF prefill file.
My previous 2 or 3 years logs of the same contest builds the file for me,
using the last QSO for each station for the file.
I have used the N1MM files in the past, when I don't have the time to
generate my own. I find the N1MM files have a lot of errors, you have to be
careful when using them.

DL1HW has a an excel script to convert XLS to ADIF and back.

I have not used this in years, but it worked fine at the time

N1MM's file has a list of call like this
4U1WB,,MDC,MD,
Writelog's file is an adif file as follows
<CALL:5>4U1WB <APP_WRITELOG_QTH:2>MD <EOR>
Normally you can do this conversion with a couple of commands in excel but
it would be nice someone to make a utility to convert it...
