I had exactly same with IC-7610 with USB. Mine was completely resolved by
putting microHAM DIGIKER II in line. I got feedbacks many were thinking
that caused by RFI getting into USB line but never tried back to USB
connection. Try ferrites onto the USB cable (or use USB3 cable which is
supposed to be better shieled). If still happening, think RFI, rather than
USB data issue. GL & 73 de Jon NN5T

Subject: [WriteLog] Erratic Keying
I have a problem with erratic keying.
My setup:
Dell Computer with an i5 Quad Core 3.1 MHz Windows 10 Pro 64-bit WriteLog v
12.55G
Icom-7851
The Icom-7851 has the latest firmware version 1.31.
For radio to computer communication, I'm using a single USB cable, Icom USB
Driver and USB Audio CODEC version 1.30.
The USB Driver set up 2 virtual COM ports, COM5 and COM6. COM5 is used for
rig control and CW keying on DTR. COM6 handles PTT for FT8, and PTT and
keying for RTTY.
For contesting I press the [F2} key to send my exchange - for the Mini-CWT
Sessions it is MARSH 1433. From 1 to 4 out of 10 [[F2] presses gibberish is
sent.
Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated.
Marsh, KA5M
