There's no reason to even listen to the FTx tones. Just watch DR and click
as needed.
I played FT during the Hawaii QSO Party since that event exchange is
compatible with WW Digi. I ran into an old problem:
When I set exchange to signal report and grid, someone will only send the
grid. DR then keeps sending the signal report over and over wasting time.
If I set the exchange to grid only, then someone sends the more common SN +
grid and DR completes, but the other station (WSJT most likely) doesn't
complete and keeps calling me. DR then answers again with RR73 over and
over. It would be great if there were some additional smarts such that
setting exchange to grid only would still give a SN only if the other
station sends one. That could be done manually, but each time I recognized
the problem a couple of cycles were wasted. If the other station doesn't
complete, I get the NIL.
