Oh... And if the relays (either of them) are NOT ready for RF, you get hot switching. As well... If they are DE-energised before RF stops flowing from the exciter, you also have hot switching. Thanks

Its actually very simple Jim. Don't send RF until the amplifier is ready. Not doing so, makes the relays hot switch. It matters not which one is energized before RF is sent. As long as they both are

RF parts is selling "re-branded" Amperex 3-500 tubes which are nothing more than Jolita (China made) 3-500s. Just did a picture lookup on Google and saw them. They have 5 disks vs the original Ampere

Agreed. That is why a standard 100 watt light bulb in series with the windings works great. If it is really shorted, then it just glows brightly. If its ok, it glows depending on the load. Thanks 73
