I now again have an Orion and I also have an Acom 1000 amp. The Orion sometimes causes a false arc fault on the amp. Tentec used to have filters that they gave away to fix this problem. Does anyone h

You don't need them. The skirts on the Orion DSP filters are very sharp making those filters not really needed. Carl Moreschi N4PY 58 Hogwood Rd Louisburg, NC 27549 www.n4py.com Anyone got these filt
Yes, but the 2.4 and 1 khz roofing filters take care of cleaning up the area. You don't need to go to 1.8 or 250 with the roofing filters. Carl Moreschi N4PY 58 Hogwood Rd Louisburg, NC 27549 www.n4p

Denton, I think you have cable connections that need cleaning. There's a lot of connections behind the Orion front panel. It's easy to remove that panel. Remove it and disconnect all the ribbon cable
I would still bet the problem is NOT a component failure but just a bad connection on the cables. The rigs are computers now and cable connections when not gold plated are unreliable with age. Carl M
You can get any symptom at all with those cables. The key is "Intermittent". They can mess up the microprocessor's decision making thus making almost anything possible. Carl Moreschi N4PY 58 Hogwood
So it's more than just no audio. It's no signals either. I would still bet on the cable connectors behind the front panel need cleaning. Carl Moreschi N4PY 58 Hogwood Rd Louisburg, NC 27549 www.n4py.

You really need a special cable where only Send data, receive data and ground to the computer. On a DB25, this is pins 2, 3, and 7 that should be the only ones connected to the computer serial port.
Depending on what type of noise, this can easily be normal. Noise blankers only work on pulse noise like from an electric motor or electric fence. Carl Moreschi N4PY 58 Hogwood Rd Louisburg, NC 27549
The Orion has both a hardware noise blanker and a software noise blanker. The hardware noise blanker is very superior and one of the best I have seen. But the very best noise blanker I have ever seen
There is no delay listening to sidetone on the Flex 6000 series. I run QSK all the time and it works very well. There might be a small delay on the signal itself but not on the sidetone for keying fe
That's a function of the receive filter used. The narrower the filter, the more latency. What receive filter were you using? Carl Moreschi N4PY 58 Hogwood Rd Louisburg, NC 27549 www.n4py.com My metho
There's a big difference between 600 and 400. The steep skirts add a lot of latency. Try 600 or 800. Carl Moreschi N4PY 58 Hogwood Rd Louisburg, NC 27549 www.n4py.com That's a function of the receive
That's not what the latency does. You don't miss the guy coming back at all. You hear him 170 msec later, in full. Nothing gets chopped. He just thinks you are slightly slow on the trigger. Carl More
The slow turn around between transmit and receive would be caused by running semi-breakin with a delay of 300 msec or so before you go back to receive. This would cause you to miss the first elements
