I bought a Honda EU2000I for my station in Aruba, after a contest power failure. Having a generator seemed to be good insurance for stabile power because I did not have another failure for a decade.

If it was detrimental to their score, they would not be doing it. As long as they ID frequently and do not respond at 35-40 WPM to someone calling CQ at 30 WPM, I do not see anything to gripe about.
