Variable speed motors don't necessarily have to cause RFI. I bought an LG High Efficiency Washer/Dryer pair 1.5 years ago. It clearly uses this type of microcontrolled technology and it is RF quiet.

My wife loves the LG TRONN washer/dryer pair. She's happy there is no RFI because I told her they would get returned if there was RFI. We have 2 kids under 5, so the washer/dryer get alot of use. The

I have some HV lines less than 100 yards from my antennas and in general, the HV lines have always been quiet. The MV/LV residential poles generate far more noise than the HV lines. The only exceptio

Yes, I suspected that it was part of the cable system. I get S9 "powerline like" noise on HF all the way up through (and past I suppose) 432Mhz. Sometimes the NB will knock it down, but not always. T

Yes, this is what I'm now suspecting. Maybe power somehow arc'd to this box and caused it to blow. If this is true, then the arc may still be there and my noise problem may come back once temperature

Some ARE easier to correct than others, though. My subwoofer had RFI issues when I operated on 80m, but wrapping the audio cable around a single toroid about a dozen turns fixed it. _________________
