I bet if you cleaned it up (if you could) it would work fine.... It has the tell tale red cap to protect the pins. I bet if you soaked in in something it would clean up. That was my first thought too

- 80 volts bias on a SB-220? Last time I looked at a SB220 the bias was provided by a 5 volt zener diode. How about -80 volts is what the SB-220 uses to cut off the tube during standby? 73 Jim W7RY -

Negative. There are 2 transformers in a SB-220. 1 filament and 1 for HV. The step start mod (from harbaugh) is wired in series with both transformer primaries. So step start helps both HV and filamen
