Searching for the GigaVac GH1 relay, I found that Henry Radio has the 26VDC GH3 version of the GH1 for only USD $39.95. http://store03.prostores.com/servlet/henryradio/the-Henry-Amplifier-Repair-Part

Larry, Thanks for the link to the comparative table. I see now that the GH3/GH5 are not rated for RF. Looks like the GH1 through Henry Radio is still a good buy at about USD $50 ea., although out of

Machlett Labs was located in Springdale, CT and for a time, was a division of Raytheon. They produced some extreme examples of high-power VTs, many of which are water and vapor-phase cooled. Recently

Jan, The problem appears to be isolated to the three-minute warm-up timer. You're seeing 2600V which is correct while the three-minute timer is activating. First, measure the +24 VDC supply voltage.

The CW/LOW light should only come on when depressed after the 3-minute timer activation. The light cannot activate without the 3-minute timer working. Also, it should not immediately come on when dep

On the Alpha 77 series, access to the switch lamps can be accomplished from the front of the amp. The easiest way is to remove the top two lenses to give you better access to the STBY/READY lens. Ta

Eric, I believe the scale is removable in the 78/x74 as it is in 77 series. Another alternative is to out-source the scale to RAMMETERS.com. I know they've re-done old 78/x74 meter scales using the o

Jan, I think your reasoning is good. I'm not sure how the amp ever worked with the configuration you've described. K5 has all terminals populated. Two on the bottom for the coil and three on the top

Alpha is using a high-volume, low-velocity blower design in the 8410. That's a great way to cool a pair of ceramic tubes but I'm not sure if that would add any contribution to lower noise with a sin
