Brad is by far the best person to work with on repairing an 87A. Nobody knows more about Alpha products than Brad. That said, I think it's unfair to characterize the current regime at Alpha as "thiev

If the bias voltage is OK, I would suspect a problem with one or both TX pin diodes. This can be caused by arcing from L1 on the T/R board. There's a rubber insulting pad under the inductor that disi

When AlphaRemote's frequency was jumping all over the place, were you transmitting? If so, I'd suspect something wrong with the frequency detector or a loose connection or bad component in the RF pat

Herb, have you tried retuning the 20m segments? If it's not that, I'd suspect a bad component in the 20m output network. 73, Dick WC1M I have an Aocom 200A and like it very much. However, I noticed a

You should call or email Glenn at Alpha to see what the message indicates and if he's seen it before. I'm puzzled by "failed to initialize". If it's completing warmup you'd think it initialized both

Long time ago I had a similar problem with the Ip display where the lowest LED would be on all the time at idle (should be off). Gradually more LEDs lit up. Turned out to be a bad op amp. Have you ch

Strange. When there's a problem with T/R sequencing, the amp normally reports a relay sequencing problem or that it's seeing RF at the wrong time. An arc fault indicates a problem at the 2000A's outp
