Anyone with comments on the above mentioned inductor? How would this thing work in a a. 3CX1500A7 amp b. 3CX3000A7 amp covering 160-10m ? Or should I wound again my own coil? Regards, Carsten, DL6LAU

It sounds great but the proof is when it is used and survives several years of tuning. It also seems a bit of an overkill for an 8877. Many have reported problems with arcing and parasitics when a ro

? amen. ? How could we possiblly know this if the dimension of the ribbon was not given? The tank circulating-current in an 8877 amplifier can easily be 13A-rms. E>F. Johnson rated their 12.7mm/0.5"

For a 3CX3000A7, the approx. tank circulating current with a Q of 12.5 is 2.5A x 12.5 = 31A-rms. Since contact dissipation is: P=I^2 x R, might not 31A be a bit much to expect from 10A-rated contact

Thats not a bad price for a 3CX3000 size unit. Add another $100 or so for a decent turns counter. One other thing to consider is that both the Tune and Load caps must have sufficient range to cover a
