Changed from a NEC MultiSync 75, CRT monitor to an KOGi 17 inch TFT LCD monitor. Cleared a lot of "birdies" from my digital mode software MixW on the waterfall display. Found a little "hash" on weak

I recently lost my hamshack LCD monitor in a lightning storm. While at Circuit City last week, I saw a Liquid Vision 15" monitor for $249.95 with a $50 mail-in rebate. In side-by-side comparison with

Replaced a dying CRT monitor here with a 15" Samsung 150S (~$260 at "Sam's Club") - all monitor EMI garbage in shack appears gone and not one bad/missing pixel. If some is spotted in the future, deta

It's my understanding that LCD monitors are typically much much better than CRTs in terms of RFI emission. Is this pretty much universally true, or are the LCD flatpanels out there that are problemat

I've had no issues with my two Samsung SyncMaster LCD monitors. One is a 19" and the other is a 17". They have been excellent units. Neither has caused any interference. I operate 80, 40, 20 with wir

I have a Samsung 192mp (19" with TV tuner, about 2-yrs old) and it has been great. No RFI at all. I have had several LCD mons and none of them caused any RFI for me. However, YMMV. I spend a lot of t

Mike I think teh issues with RFI on LCD Monitors are with the Switching Type Power Supplies and not the Monitors themselves. Best to check what other hams are using and when you do get an LCD monitor

That's hard, because sources of the hardware tend to change at the whim of the bean counters and/or purchasing agent. As others have noted, LCD's are generally quiet, with power supplies being the po

Since there are a lot of TV/Monitor posts here, I have a question since I am uninformed. I bought a 24 inch monitor as an LED monitor as advertised and now find it says it is an LCD with an LED BACKL

When talking about TV/monitors this is what they mean. The LED backlight produces cleaner more consistant light and is moe controlable. Also has a longer span and does not develop a color cast as it
