Duane, even if things were in best order, all products from all companies still have occasional premature failures and somebody is always the proud owner. Perhaps you just had bad luck, unless you he
Thank you Bob, The computer is selecting the correct sound card. It does receive properly from the LINE OUT on the read ACC1 of the OMNI VII. I tried setting it to LINE INPUT and upped the gain to 65
I am continueing to unpack my ham radio gear, and I finally got to my grandfathers model 540 (Analog dial). I need to go through and address the common grounding problem, but it seems to have develop
It should not be difficult. If using the TenTec provided cable (From the Manual): WHITE = pin 1, line level audio input. YELLOW = pin 4, line level audio output. RED = pin 5, FSK. BLACK = pin 3, push
It's a commercial interface I got from eBay called EASYDIGI that appears to not be conveying the transmit audio through to the ACC1 connector. More results soon. Best regards - Bry Carling
Which one did you get? The kit, the assembled PCB, the assembled one in a box with cables, or the assembled in a box with box? Looks like he used some impedance transformers... (To provide isolation

There are control boards available to trip out at adjustable levels of grid current. If you want to monitor each tube individually, you could switch which triode you are monitoring, or install a seco
0 DBM is defined as 1 milliwatt. At 50 ohms, that's 0.22 volts for 0 dbm. S9 is -73 dbm so 0 dbm is S9+73. -10 dbm is .1 milliwatt. -20 dbm is .01 milliwatt -30 dbm is .001 milliwatt -40 dbm is .0001
I didn't realize the discussion was about audio. 0 DBM is defined as 1 milliwatt. At 600 ohms, that's 0.77 volts for 0 dbm. S9 is -73 dbm so 0 dbm is S9+73. -10 dbm is .1 milliwatt. -20 dbm is .01 mi
Sounds like you are using the speaker output connection, typically this output well above line level voltages (I am guessing here since I have never probed the outputs on a laptop). I am placing my b
Nothing is smoked. The Tentec just has VERY low gain on that aux input when used in USB mode unfortunately. If I run everything flat out, I can make contacts. OMNI VII Line Gain 100% Software level a
The Omni VII does not have low gain. But it seems yours has a defective LINE INPUT. I can run mine at 25% and raising the level up on the computer I get 100 watts of data output, well into ALC range.
It may be "fried" but I seriously doubt it. I was able to work into VK this morning on 40m with JT65 and I am now getting 30 - 50 watts output. The fault may be in the amount of signal WINDOWS 8 is a

The matching of the tubes when purchased assures they will draw approximately the same grid current in the amp. Proper biasing will help assure the cleanest signal for the selected class of service.
