It's amazing how the sscw scores converge so closely after
so many contacts. Only twelve more qso's after 24 hours
would have moved me up from a ho-hum number 11 spot into the
top ten at number seven. That is great motivation to
keep the intensity level high throughout the contest, no matter
what's happening at the time. I think I'll print these scores and
paste them on the wall as a reminder next time.

It gave me great pleasure to win the Southwest Division
plaque again, narrowly fending off attacks by two other
heavy-duty Arizona stations:
KY7M (operating mountaintop station AA7MH), and
N7DD (operated by K7JA)
The KT-34XA/40-2CD at 49/55 feet strike again! Thanks again
for the idea, Danny.

After spending the summer travelling, I returned home
shortly before SSCW and found that a major line noise source
had appeared during the time I was gone. It was especially
bad on 80, and kept me from working any but the loudest
stations on that band, almost all second radio s&p. I have
located the noise source now, and hopefully the power company
will fix it before the SSB weekend.
