COMMENTS: WIND STORM TOOK DOWN THE 100FT TOWER WITH THE FULL SIZE 3EL, 40
METER BEAM ON MONDAY BEFORE THE CONTEST. WAS FORCED TO USE THE 3EL KLM SHORT
AT 80FT FOR THE WHOLE CONTEST. AS THINGS WORKED OUT NOT TOO MANY PROBLEMS
THERE ,AS NO EUROPE COULD BE HEARD. NO SURPRISE, K-INDEX OF 36. NO BAND OVER
THE POLE EITHER NIGHT. WAS ABLE TO WORK SOME EUROPE OVER SOUTH AMERICA!!
THANKS TO ALL OF THE JAPAN STATIONS WHO MADE THE CONTEST SOMEWHAT FUN. GREAT
JA OPENING SECOND NIGHT WITH QRP JA S9 PLUS. HAD THE RATE METER TO 197 FOR
AWHILE. CANT WAIT FOR THE SFI TO GET OVER 100 SO CAN QUIT 40M FOR THE HIGH
BANDS. WHAT A DRAG. FORGOT TO MENTION---RAINED ALL NIGHT ON FRIDAY---STATIC
WAS S9 PLUS FOR MOST OF THE NIGHT. JUST TO ADD INSULT TO INJURY. IT never
rains in arizona!!!! MAYBE NEXT YEAR.
SOMETIMES WONDER WHY THE DEDICATED FEW OF US BOTHER? HATS OFF TO ALL WHO
PERSERVERED. 73, LARRY
