Soapbox:

Had some prior engagements, so time was a bit limited; however, there
was no way in heck I was going to miss this last major SSB contest of
the 96/97 season! Finally had a beam up a mast for this year's contest
and I've come to the conclusion that beam, even at a lowly 20 feet above
ground, beats a vertical at the same height. Now if I had a rotator,
that would be heaven! Noticed after it was over that I was just one
contact short of my score from last year...DOOUGH! (or is that, Doe,
spaceman Doe? eh, I digress).

Thanks to those who gave me contacts off the side/back of the beam, esp.
those 0 point mults! Any little bit counts. C'ya all in the next
'test!

OK, plans for next contest...a rotator (no more hand crank...), no other
commitments, new coax, some concrete and a tower would be nice...
