Observations

I am glad I checked the WWv numbers after the contest -- had I done otherwise I
may not have committed to a 48 hour effort ... Given what the numbers were,
its amazing we had any propagation at all.

160 - Better conditions than expected nice mults including the stalwart KH6CC
and some Carribs which made it fun to see what was around.

80 - How does anyone get through you 3L@160+ feet stations ... somehow was able
to sweak out a few good QSOs although I have given up vain attempts of working
EU mults through walls. Nevertheless, the band yielded fair results for us
lesser stations.

40 - The lack of a decent JA run made 40 a worse than usual effort this time.
DX for the most part did not seem too interested in QSX up and were happy just
to work "simplex" under the poor conditions. Much to my chagrin, not even one
EU made it into my log.

20 - As always the money band. Fair JA runs, but gave up trying to run EU as
it became readily apparent that this was just not meant to be.

15 - JA runs were possible only on Sunday in last 3 hours (thank goodness).
Well, shouldn't complain, a year or so ago there was no 15M!

10 - I mirror N2IC's comments on the fantastic South American activity. The
PY and LU novices and others were great and truly made the Sunday run enjoyable
with past 10 rates hitting 85+ S&P. The new 6/6 stack got its first play and
confirmed how well the antennas work.

General -- I already anticipate losing W7 to Lew W7AT and his fine station, and
perhaps others. But I still enjoy giving it a go every year with the hopes
that the loss will not be quite as bad as the year before.

73 & see you in the piles

Andrew, W7VJ (formerly NN7L)
