Soapbox Comments from Smokey Hill:
Well, contest started out just perky. Called CQ on 40, and got a good
rate going. All went like a Cinderella dream. I set up a goal of 240.
Sunday morning rolls around. I'm sitting at 110 Q's. We begin the day
S&P on 20. We worked a small gathering on 20, and a even smaller
gathering on 15. We mainly did all CQ'ing on 40. By 6PM Sunday, I was
over my goal of 240Q's. This 240 goal beats the highest contest effort
from N9YXA (IARU, 1996, 228 Q's). At the end of the contest, I had
managed 250+ contacts.

Interesting Observations:
1. Loud clunking noise from antenna tuner in my new rig, later fixed
by
tightening the shaft connected to the Inductance section from the
   motor
2. Extremely good band conditions on 40
3. Think I fried another one of nature's delights (Rocky S.)
4. Lots of patient, kind operating procedures

Antennas @ N9YXA
20-10: Dipole at 30 Feet, sloping down to the N
40: 60 ft. Longwire w/inductance coil, mounted N-S also @ 30 ft.

This is truly the best effort from N9YXA. Next year, my goal is 340
for the CW portion.

We don't know what the phone portion of the 'test has in store.
The highest phone contest from here is 180 something.

I have observed all competition rules as well as all regulations
established for amateur radio in my country. My report is correct
and true to the best of my knowledge. I agree to be bound by the
 decisions of the Awards Committee.
