 Soapbox Comments
 ________________

After a mis-spent lifetime chasing DX, finally, my first "domestic"
contest. I shared a site with another op, and operated as independently
as one can when antennas are single digit feet apart, and rigs are in
the same room. With a low vertical for the high bands, I found the
Windom worked better everywhere, but wire is not a fit substitute for
aluminum and altitude, so I foresook the higher frequencies, and
focused
on having FUN on the low bands, where I am more comfortable anyway.

Not out for a superior score, I thanked people who worked me on more
than one band, encouraged non-competitors to join the fun and move to
different bands, and noticed some HUGE signals from the west on 75 and
 160. Plus, I worked a bunch of TCG folks, and thanked the chaps from
 NC!

Given last week's full frontal attack by Mr. Murphy and his troops,
this
was pure joy. My timing was off for band switches, but I made up for it
with extra trips to the fridge and the loo...

 I'll be back.
