My first CQWW 160 CW. What a blast! Interesting weekend with many
plans and goals. The feedline to the Windom is touching the loop at
the 105' level and I get 7 watts back down the opposing antenna when
running 100w! Made the decision to go low power and play with
2-radio setup with some success. Was able to run dualing Cqs at
each end of the band -- may have had to get a repeat every once in a
while on the really weak ones. Was very effective at S&P while CQing
on the main radio. 2nd radio RX was tied to the NE beverage
exclusively. This was my first attempt at a 160 contest with low power
and except for the inability to get through to some DX stations, I
found the experience extremely satisfying as I felt fairly well balanced
with only a handful of stations I could not pull out calling me.

Slept from 2am-5:30am first night. Went to the Gallatin Hamfest
Saturday morning, held a Tennessee Contest Group Meeting (with several
of our CQWW 160 contestants present), gave tours of the "contest" station.
Noise crashes seemed worse on the second night, physically gave out
at 2a.m., overslept to 6a.m. -- managed to put KL7 and my very first
JA on 160 in the log! (Helps when you know where/how to work them.)

I'll be back with better antennas & separation. Might even do it low
 power again!
