Equipment Description: Yaesu FT-1000, Force 12 C-4 Antenna @ 70'
Comments: I started out to operate the contest as XE2/N7VY. As I =
attempted to=20
clear Mexican customs I had a problem. The Customs agent confiscated my =
desk=20
top computer (They said you can take in a new one but not a =
usedcomputer?).=20
When another agent saw my radio he asked if I had paid duty on=20
the radio also. They then wanted to confiscate my radio, truck and place =
me=20
in jail!! After an hour of talking I got to leave Mexico and return to =
Arizona=20
( without my computer! ). Saturday I spent reassembling antennas and =
raising=20
my tower. I couldn't get the bottom antenna of my stack in the air, so =
only=20
had a C-4 to operate the contest. Sunday the conditions were better than =
last=20
year. Wow, I made more contacts on 10 meters than I did on 20 meters. I =
worked=20
only one other QRP station in the contest.
