That's a lot of QSO's, but not much in the way of points. Last year I had
only 49 more QSO's (HP), but about 314k more points.
My band opinions...
160M: Fulla noise the whole time. Heard some East coast stations working
each other, but was not worth wasting time on.
80M: Worked TM9C first night, and got a few multipliers, but it was really
full of noise. Never could get S58AL to hear me. Had a relatively easy QSO
with 9A1A Saturday night, but nothing spectacular.
40M: My 7 MHz totals really stink compared to what they should be. Europe
was hard to come by the first night, but was there the second night. H24LP
was the only station that I heard that I couldn't work. All of my Europe
was S&P. All 60 or whatever of them. I went to bed too early both nights,
and made the big mistake of fudging my way out of getting up. Woke up in a
panic at 9 AM on Saturday, and at noon on Sunday. As a result, not a
single JA or anything else west of here in my log on 40. Cost: 50-100
QSO's.
20M: Heard Europe coming in as early (late?) as 0500z, but only results
were a "?" out of US5WE (worked next day). As above, scared myself real
bad by getting up so late on Saturday. Really sorry Europe during first
day until about 1900. Second day was slightly better, but about the same.
Seemed like activity declined some to me. I could actually hold a spot on
any part of the band. The "Highest" signal that I heard was at 14079.4.
Not much came back to my CQ's. Probably 95% of my Europe came from S&P.
Worked 150 something that way, though. HB2CA and RZ6LI were the only ones
who couldn't hear me at all.
15M: No JA's hardly at all. Worked two on Friday night around 0330. It
was marginally open until very late, then it gradually died down. JR1MQT
was my last QSO at 2359z on Sunday, who gave me his # 1. Go figure...
Very little Europe, with only the big guns making it. Again, all of Europe
was S&P.
10M: About the same as last year. Worked a lot of PY, LU there. Thank
goodness for them, or my 10 meter line would be all 0's.

40M: TU2, P3, RN6 worked
20M: ES4, DU1, FK8, 9M6, 3V8, A45, 5R8 (all time new one) worked
15M: VK5, FK8, P3, YB0
10M: Not much here. PR2W, LU2DW...
Well, we (dad and mom) decided 3 hours before the contest begun that we (I)
should move the station to the shop where there was more room, and so that
I could stay up late. Anyway, we discovered we couldn't find a 220v plug
for the amplifier. So, to keep from burning the place down, I had to run
low power. Out of all the weekends. Looks like it's going to stay there,
at least for a while despite the 100+ degree weather here. Guess my best
excuse of all is having either pneumonia or bronchitis. One doctor called
it one, and the other called it the other. Take your pick. Hope no one
fell asleep.
