Rig: FT-1000MP with INRAD(W2VJN) and K9AN mods
Amp: Ten-Tec Titan, 1.5 KW out
Ant: New Force 12 C-31XR Tribander @35' on tower trailer (really!)
      Boom length: 31'
QTH: Portable, in Paso Robles, CA
      San Luis Obispo County
      Grid Sq: CM95

I operated from N6BT's home in Paso Robles, CA to check out his new
hillside QTH and get away from the line noise at my own station. It's a
good thing I did. I've never worked so many weak stations in a
contest. The mostly quiet QTH made a big difference.

What may have helped even more was that I was 130 miles South.
According to K2KW, who listened to my signal from the EA4ML multi-multi
just before the contest started, I was 2 S-units louder than K6KM (170
miles North), and my signal had no auroral flutter, whereas K6KM's did!

The new Force 12 C-31XR tribander really seems to work.

Many thanks to Tom, N6BT for the superb hospitality.

73,
Bob, N6TV
