Hi everyone,
Had a great time in SS using a special event call. However, getting
a 2 hour late start, plus the deplorable solar conditions, made for a
continuing "I gotta catch up" the rest of the contest. Had a couple
unannounced visits from relatives from out of town on Sunday which put a
damper on a full effort.
It was nice to work quite a few stations, although sending rather
slowly, who had CKs of 93-97. This may indicate some new aspiring
contesters who are testing the water.
This was the first time I toyed with 2 radios. Had both interfaced
for CT for rig control but only 1 for keying. Very interesting but
extremely difficult. I hope it improves with practice. I have one
TopTen decoder wired to autoswitch Icecomm bandpass 419 multibox (thanks
Dave N3RD at TopTen) and Topten antenna switch. Worked flawlessly and
plan to add a 2nd set for the 2nd radio in the future.
Is anyone using a commercial headphone mixer to run the 2 radio
headphone signals to one output with a/b pots? I used one ear from each
pair of headphones. I'd like to hear about what some of you are using.
Thanks to all who worked me. QSLs will be printed for the 1X1 call if
anyone needs a card.
73 and CU in SS FONE!
