Hi everybody.
Great conditions and did the best from the home QTH ever for this
contest. Really missed being down at V2 but had to cancel trip at last
minute. Made DXCC on 4 bands in one contest - another personal
achievement. Tried some 2 radio operating. Mostly used 2nd radio to grab
mults. The TOPTen decoder and antenna switch worked great. Got in about
40hours operating, and the Alphas and FT1000s worked flawlessly. One
minor event which was strange, when using CT to grabspot on the
FT1000MP, it would af reverse the audio. Also, if I use alt F3 to call
out a spot, the frequency would be off in the callout by 2 or 3 khz.
Since I am on a small lot and limited with a 60ft tower, I pursued a
strategy of going for mults agressively while trying to hold a CQ
frequency on the other radio. It worked quite well, and I wound up with
656 mults.
