A lot more dx to be had this year (as if anyone could have failed to
notice), but propagation was down on a few weeks ago. Wall-to-wall East
coast US both afternoons but nothing north and west of a line from N
California to Saskatchewan, no JA heard here, very little VK, only one
ZL. So still a way to go before the band is at its best. A small
downside this year was no sporadic E so no runs of nearer Europeans,
only stronger stations via backscatter. Also many few meteor scatter
contacts - I sort of miss the late night / early morning forays of a few
years ago when you could net a mult or two and maybe 10% of your total
QSOs! Next year there will be long path to the Pacific to liven up the
late evenings. See you then.
