Operating crew a bit lean this time. :-) But we made it through
OK. Thanks to Christine we were kept comfortable and well-fed. I didn't
eat as much pasta salad as usual. Gotta shed a few pounds. ;-)
Congrats to W3LPL on a great win and to all the other multi-multi entrants
for making multi-multi so much fun to compete in!
160: Real noisy Friday night......real tough going but T93M toughed it out
and did a great job, as usual.
80: DL7ALM flew in from Berlin to be with us....Lars is a real trooper
and hung in there on 80 for a great score. Real noisy Friday night
and condx weren't favoring New England. Still recovering from
geomagnetic disturbance.
40: [KM3T] I had a blast.....first time doing 40m from XX. Condx are
much better in WW. :-) For the new shack I'll make sure we wire
in a Beverage on 40m....could have used it from time to time.
20: K1GQ "Iron Man Bill" brought over his new Herman Miller chair and
parked his butt in it for a lot of hours. He only got a few hours of
sleep. Guys, go see:
<http://www.hermanmiller.com/products/seating/work/aeron/index.html>
This chair is a work of art. It is one of the most ergonomic chairs
in the universe, at least as we know it. Tell your wife that you
really *do* want something for your birthday.
Bill really cleaned up and kicked butt on 20.
15: AD1C had a great time on 15.....sitting in instead K1DG, our usual
15m luminary. Jim did a great job on a real busy band. Great condx
on 15!
10: XX "Eight Stack Matt" did a bang-up job on 10m......just like in WW.
Go Matt! He can run 'em *and* build a complete M/M station. Now how
many guys can say that? LPL and LR are the two main ones that come
to mind. :-) Of course there are others.....K1KI, etc., etc.
Hmmm......interesting....always the same guys at the top of the M/M
pile. It isn't all just about hardware, folks.
